RYA Competent Crew practical
First step in learning to sail a yacht
RYA Competent Crew course is a basic training for suitable for complete beginners or those with a little experience. It is organized onboard in Gulf of Gdansk.
Practical courses last 5 days onboard sailing yacht Delphia 37 in Gulf of Gdansk. The training crew is a maximum of five people which facilitates individual approach to every participant and gives more time for maneuvering exercises and learning the basics of yacht handling.
Each day of the course is filled with intensive training on general duties, setting and handling sails, safe work on deck and steering. During stops in ports you can revise or consult the instructor. The course if

The programme of the course includes, among others:
- steering the yacht,
- sail handling and setting,
- basics of observation and look out,
- onboard safety,
- all necessary tasks to become an active and competent crew member.
Communicative command of English is needed.

RYA Competent Crew course is ideal to start your adventure with sea sailing. After 5 days on board you will become a qualified crew member able to successfully assist in all tasks onboard.
The experience you gain during the course is taken into account for sea time qualifying for higher levels, both RYA certficates and Polish licences.
The price of the course: PLN 2090 includes sailing training during a sea passage and RYA certificate once the course is passed.
Food, port fees, fuel and cleaning costs are shared between the crew members (usually about PLN 200 per person per passage).
Skipper is excluded from the shared costs.
